Playoffs E1: YOSA’s head coach ponders over day 3 match officials
By Mangek Promise

The head coach of Yound Sport Academy Ndikum Blaise has expressed worries over the center referee who has been programmed to officiate the Victoria United vs YOSA encounter come Monday 1st.

He was speaking in Douala today Saturday 30th during the pre-match press conference. His view about appreciating the match officials in the playoffs was asked and he had this to say.

"Before we played the return leg of our game with Victoria United in Limbe, our management complained to the Federation because almost the same referees have been handling Victoria United's matches. I am surprised that Mr Omar has been appointed to officiate our game against Victoria United on Monday. It is this same Omar that was criticized so much in Elite Two regarding Victoria United matches."

The officials of games counting for day 3 were made known this Saturday 30th March with Matechuet Omar as centre referee, Sali Eric and Abe Jean Blaise as first and second assistant referees respectively for the Victoria United vs YOSA encounter. Atezabong Carine is to officiate as the 4th assistant.

"Why always Omar for most of Victoria United's games when Cameroon has many other competent referees?"

Ndikum Blaise questioned. Asked about his psychological preparation of the game and how the officiating could affect him, the gaffer had this to say.

"Personally, I don't talk about referees but I am not comfortable. I am psychologically prepared to confront Victoria United even if the insist to send Omar. I believe that our management is not also comfortable. My boys are ready for the game for we know football is being played on the pitch. However, if they can do something about the officials, it will be good"  the coach added.

Before playing their return against Victoria United in Limbe, the management of the Bamenda based team issued a communique calling on the Cameroon Football Federation, Fecafoot to ensure a smooth officiating of the encounter. This, they stated had been negotiated to disfavor YOSA and be favourable to another team. The encounter ended in a 1#1 draw after YOSA came from behind to equalize.

YOSA will face Victoria United on Monday 1st April 2024 in match day three counting for the Playoffs up in the MTN Elite One. The game is poised to start at 4pm at the Bepanda Annex Football Stadium.
