Elite One: Essiane leads Canon to complicate equation for Aigle

By Mangek Promise

Canon football club has complicated matters for Aigle Royal of Dschang this Sunday November 19th 2023 as they beat them 3#0.

The game started at a low pase with Canon being a better side both on paper and on the pitch.

The home side came close to scoring after a quarter minute but the shot was tallied for a corner by goalkeeper Lama Lawane who was debuting in the absence of Serge Diguel on international duty.

After 30 minutes, it was no longer the same story as Herman Tchakounte opened his goal account for the Yaounde base team from a diagonal cross from Alfred Meyong. The first segment would then pushed forward till pause with Tchakounte's shot making the difference.

Half Time
Canon 1#0 Aigle.

Upon resumption, both sides strengthened their squads with fresh legs but it still ended in a fiasco for Aigle as they proved a shadow of themselves.

A 57 minute advantage presented itself to Ngong Nerville who rather prefered to assist Thogane Essiane to net the second goal of the game for Canon.

Barely 12minutes later, substitute player Eyango Priso partnered with Brandon Djoufack with a dexterity of fine play. A careful cross from Eyango Priso was enough for Thogane Essiane to complete his brace of the game.

The game would then play till the 90th minute with lots of fireworks yet no more goals.

Essiane's brace keeps him at 3goals after scoring against Bamboutos of Mbouda on Match day 7.

The defeat means Aigle Royal have gone 8games without a single win. Apejes of Mfou are the only other team with no win after day 8 of play.
