Cameroon international striker Leandre Kana Tawamba has signed a new contract with Saudi Arabian side Al Akhdood Club. This comes barely less than 24 hours when he ended his four year stay at Al Taawoun Courtesy of a non renewable contract and mutual agreement for Tawamba and former employer.
Al-Okhdood Club is a Saudi Arabian football club based in Najran, in the southern region of Saudi Arabia. Founded in 1976, the club competes in the Saudi Professional League, the first tier of Saudi football. The club have won the Saudi Second Division twice in 1992 and most recently in 2021.
Tawamba's latest goal for the Saudi Arabian side was on the 19th of August when he opened score from a corner kick against a Ronaldo and Mane full side Al Nasrr. The game eventually ended 2#0 in favor the Cameroonian international and mates.
Tawamba joined Al Taawoun in 2018 from Serbian side Partizan Belgrade and left on Thursday 31 August 2023 as the club announced dressing him as king. Tawamba's contribution to Al Taawoun didn't go unnoticed as the decorations on him spoke.
He made 152 appearances for the club, scoring 82 goals in that venture and providing 20 assists. He has been top scorer of the club for two seasons and also pushed the club to win the Saudi Arabian King's Cup in 2019.
