Bali Nyonga Footour: Munung Tigers walk pass veterans

By Mangek Promise

Munung Tigers Football Club of Bali Nyonga have defeated the Veterans of the same side in the ongoing 2023 Bali Nyonga Football Tournament in Yaounde.

First half goals saw a perfect glide to a  2#1 win for the Tigers as both sides came with alot of determination and enthusiasm to win.

It took Bertrand of Munung Tigers just a few minutes into the game to open score for the tigers as they kicked started with a smile before it was made comfortable to laughter by Lauren Missoni who scored a wonderful volley to glide through a comfortable lead of 2#0.

After half an hour, Veterans FC who are cup holders were visibly walking on banana peals with less chances for a come back. However, Manga Roger reduced tally as he scored the lone goal for Veterans FC before the break.

When both sides came back from the scenes, it was a different ball game with dexterity to view success. Veterans went for fresh legs as they galvanized to pally a come back but their aspirations ended in a fiasco. In the 70th minute of play, Manga Roger came close to leveling score but had his shot deflated for a corner that eventually went begging.

The game then played towards 90minutes with no indications of further jubilation but substitute player Mabuh Bryan took everyone by suprise as he sent a powerful thunder bolt out of the box to cement the victory for Munung Tigers. The victory for Munung Tigers means the equation is more complicated for Cup holders Veterans FC who have only one point after three games and must win next Thursday should they hope to qualify for the semis.

Forbang Eugene, General Coodinator of the organization stated that "The Bali Nyonga Football Tournament is in its fifth edition and we are happy that it is yielding the expected fruits of peace and development for the people of Bali Nyonga and Cameroon at large.

"We want to ensure that Football can be used to preach peace and social coherence"* The 2023 Bali Nyonga Football Tournament is played every Thursdays at the École du Post Football Stadium.
