By Bernice Nchang

The champions of the West Regional Football League (WRFL) Will be an affair between teams from the Noun Division following the elimination of Stade Bandjoun, the only odd team in the last eight.

Volcan du Noun beat Renaissance of the same division by 2-0 in the first encounter played at the Bafoussam Bamendzi stadium this afternoon.

Pre-tournament favourite Stade Bandjoun were forced into a 2-2 draw by Riziere du Noun. Rizière  triumphed in post match penalty kicks 5-4.

Stade Bandjoun were semi-finalist in this year's cup of Cameroon and was eliminated by PWD of Bamenda, 2-1.

Stade Bandjoun Came into the west regional league play offs as only one of four teams not based in the Noun Division. The team teams that booked their place in the last eight included four team from the Noun Division, Renaissance du noun, Riziere du noun, Fédéral. Du Moins and Volcan du Noun.

The other four were NGV Dschang, As Polyteck de Bansoa, As Menoua de Dschang and Stade de Bandjoun.

Stade Bandjoun after it's exploits in the Cup of Cameroon was considered as favourite but we're shocked and knocked out in the last four.

Rizière and Volcan FC will next decide who becomes champions and carries the hope of the West Regionp into the national interpools to qualify teams into Elite Two.   The region lost Djiko FC from the elite one and failed to promote any team into elite one this season.
