PWD of Bamenda beat West Regional Side, Stade FC of Bandjoun 2-1 in a highly charged encounter at the Douala Reunification Stadium Annex on Saturday to pick the first ticket for the finals of the Cup of Cameroon 2022/2023 season.

Fovu Club of Baham in the second match beat Colombe FC of the South 12-11 penalties to set a final date against PWD on a date yet to be fixed.

It was a very tensed semi-finals when organisers opted to use the 2000 capacity annex stadium for the match, forcing thousands of supporters and football lovers to be unable to access the stadium, though some were later left to attend without tickets when pressure started mounting beyond control at the entrance.

The 2023 finals will be between two teams that have previously won the trophy. PWD of Bamenda as recently as 2021 when they beat Les Astres of Douala by a goal to -nil to lift their first cup of Cameroon trophy.

Fovu Baham is gunning for the third trophy of the Cup of Cameroon. Fovu won its first Cup of Cameroon trophy in in 2001 when they beat Cintra FC of Yaounde by 3-2 and the second in 2010 against Les Astres, winning 2-1. Fovu also lost the finals to Union of Douala 0-1 in 2006.

All ears are now waiting to hear from the civil cabinet of the presidency when the finals will actually be played. But unfortunately, the winner will not be representing Cameroon in the next CAF club competitions since FECAFOOT had earlier fielded Bamboutos of Mbouda as CAF Confederations Cup representative from Cameroon to meet up with CAF deadlines.
