PWD of Bamenda, 2021 Cup of Cameroon winner and Hilltop Striker, 2022 Champions of the Northwest Region are the last team from the Northwest Region still standing in the cup of Cameroon race after the elimination of Yong Sport Academy, Bafut Rangers, Foncha Street, Ranbow FC and Bamenda FC.
Both teams have been drawn against AS FAP of Yaoundé and Stade de Bertoua in the 8th finals to come up this weekend.
PWD of Bamenda takes on AS FAP on Sunday June 11 at the Bafoussam Bamendzi Stadium. AS FAP reached this stage by eliminating Sable FC of Batie 4-0 in the 32nd finals, and Atlantic of Kribi in the 16th finals to make a cut for the last 16.
Northwest Regional league side Hilltop Strikers confronts Stade Bertoua. Stade Bertoua who eliminated PWD at the 32nd finals last season beat Sahel FC 1-0 in round of 64, before showing Tonnerre Kalara of Yaoundé the way out with a 3-1 victory in the last 32 of the competition. Hilltop Strikers after putting aside Gazelle FC and Foudre de Akonolinga in the last two rounds will spurs up to Stade Bertoua in Yaounde on Sunday at the Yaoundé military Stadium.
The winner of the PWD vs AS Fap encounter will move on to face the winner of the Avion FC vs Dynamo of Douala encounter at the quarter finals while the winner of the of the Hiltop Strikers vs Stade Bertoua match will face either Stade Bandjoun or Stade renard in the last 8.
From the pairings, its is possible that PWD and Hilltop could set up an all Northwest semi finals if they win their next two matches.
