The MTN Elite One Championship Pool A rendered its verdict on Sunday April 30th with the last matches of the pool phase. PWD of Bamenda beat Renaissance of Ngoumou by the odd goal in a game that saw five goals, with four  scored in the second half alone.

PWD vaunted by hundreds of fans from Bamenda that invaded the MTN Municipal Arena in Mbouda opened the scoring at the 35th Minute through leading scorer Ateba Leonel who headed in from a Awahmukalah corner.

The Abakwa Boys left for recess, holding the delicate one goal advantage. Coach Bep Constantine and his charges started the second half knowing a single goal will not be enough to see out the game. At the 59th minutes, Awahmukala Bryant made sure of the second when he robbed a Renaissance defender of the ball and raced through on goal, smartly beating the goalkeeper at his near post to put the Abakwa Boys two goals up, sending PWD fans wild.

>But this was not to last long as Renaissance halved the advantage from the Penalty spot. But Abanke Eric, a second half substitute was there to restore the two goals lead, seven minute from time. But Reanissance still succeeded to get one from a headed corner deep inside stoppage time to end the match 3-2. The results means PWD end the league phased on 25 points and on 4th spot while Renaissance ends at the 10th spot, not good enough to save their season.
