By Tony Fabrice

17 times champions of Cameroon Cotonsports FC of Garoua has sacked their lead trainer Gabriel Haman in favour of Bisseck Jean Baptiste.

Coach Gabriel Haman whose sacking was made public by the club in a communique dated Tuesday March 27, 2023, was caused by a series of poor results recorded with the club. Haven taken over from coach Aboubakar Souleymanou on interim basis last year before being appointed as the lead tactician, coach Haman helped the Cotton weavers win their 17th Elite one title and the 2022 Cameroon Cup beating Bamboutos FC of Mbouda.

For the 2022/2023 campaign with the club he has recorded six victories, five draws and four defeats in 15 league games, ranked third with 23 points in pool A. He has lost all five group stage games of the on going CAF Champions League competition, ranked bottom and yet to pick up a single point. Worst of all in the three months of 2023, the team has only managed two victories.

Before his sacking, he was under a three match ultimatum which they only recorded a victory against Djiko FC, lost against Egyptian giant Al Ahly SC and against Canon Sportive of Yaoundé.

He will be assisted by Saidou Hamadjoda who will also serve as goalkeeper trainer.
